How to Edit a Framer Template
A step-by-step guide to help you customize any Framer template

Framer templates are a great starting point for building stunning websites quickly. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned designer, editing a template to fit your unique style and content is simple.
Duplicate the Template
Once you’ve chosen a template from the Framer Store, the first step is to duplicate it into your own workspace. This ensures you’re working on a copy, allowing you to make changes without affecting the original template.
To duplicate, simply click on "Duplicate to Your Workspace" or "Edit in Framer" after selecting the template. The project will be copied to your dashboard, ready for editing.
Update Text and Images
Start by replacing the placeholder content with your own. Click on any text block to edit headlines, paragraphs, or button labels. Be sure to update any images or graphics to reflect your brand, product, or project.
To change an image, select the image block, click "Replace Image", and either upload your own file or select an image from Framer’s built-in libraries.
Customize Colors and Fonts
Next, you’ll want to tweak the design to match your style. Adjusting the color palette and typography will instantly give the template a personalized feel.
To change colors, select any element (text, background, or button) and modify its color in the right-hand panel. You can also set global color styles so that changes apply consistently across the entire template. For fonts, select the text you want to edit and choose a new typeface from the font dropdown.
Adjust Layout and Spacing
Framer templates are designed to be responsive, but you might want to tweak the layout or spacing to better suit your content. Simply click on any section, and drag to adjust margins, padding, or the overall layout. You can also resize images and text boxes to better fit your content.
Add or Remove Sections
Most templates come with predefined sections like a hero, features, testimonials, and contact forms. You can easily add or remove sections depending on your needs.
To add a new section, click the "+" button at the bottom of any section and choose from the available pre-built blocks. To remove a section, select it and click "Delete" or press the delete key on your keyboard.
Save and Publish
Once you're satisfied with your edits, save your work and prepare to publish. Framer makes it easy to connect your custom domain or use a free Framer URL. Simply go to "Publish", choose your options, and your site will be live in minutes.
